About Me
I relocated from the UK to Vancouver Island in 2011 with my husband, two sons, and our pets. My family and I became Canadian citizens six years ago. Charlie, my therapy dog, is often present in sessions, and his brother, Dudley, occasionally accompanies him.
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist, a protected profession in the UK, specialising in the care of older adolescents and young adults. I am trained to work with individuals from age 16 through early adulthood and offer a relational, empathic, and practical approach to psychotherapy. My work draws on current research in neuroscience, developmental psychology, and attachment theory. With extensive experience across psychology and social services, I have supported young people with a wide range of socio-emotional, developmental, and behavioural challenges. As a parent of two young men, I have personal experience that further informs my understanding of the families I support.
For Colleagues
I believe clinical supervision remains essential throughout one’s professional life. Many practitioners find that supervision deepens their clinical work and supports complex decision-making.
I am qualified in both the UK and Canada to provide Professional Clinical Supervision, holding CCS certification in the UK (most recently renewed in 2024) and RCC-ACS certification in Canada (obtained in 2024).
I am qualified in the UK and in Canada to offer Section 211 and Views of a Child legal reports.
Student news.
Jessica Waslen is a graduate student in Clinical Counselling who will be joining my practice for approximately six months as part of her clinical training, beginning at the end of September 2025. She will work under my close supervision to ensure the highest standard of care.
